I found and subscribed to the She Reads Truth newsletter some time back but just recently learned about their app. These are a few of the ways you're introduced to their lessons and invited to make these readings a part of your daily routine.
Hebrews 4:12 ESV
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
It is our responsibility to research and understand root beliefs, agendas and sources; to be thoughtful about what we share and to continue our own due diligence. I admire that She Reads Truth includes their beliefs and how they are lead through the word right on their home page. Read more below.
From She Reads Truth; What We Believe
We believe in God (Genesis 1:1). We believe we are sinners in need of a Savior (Romans 3:23). We believe Jesus Christ came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21, 1 John 4:9-10), fully and forever accomplishing that work on the Cross (1 Peter 2:24).
We believe the Bible is for us and for now, but it is about God.
The Bible is God’s Word, His special revelation to mankind—complete, inerrant, living, active. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Bible is God’s provision for men and women to know Him, serve Him, and grow in relationship with Him. God is the main character of every story in Scripture, and Jesus is the Hero.
We believe God’s Word is Truth.
We don’t blindly accept doctrines of man but trust the Word like we trust the Father who gave it. As sisters in Christ, we will always push one another to seek the truest version of what Scripture says, rather than twist God’s Word to fit our own desired meaning. Because the Bible is true, even the parts we don’t understand are good news.
We believe God’s Word is relevant for today.
Because Scripture is God-breathed, living, and active, there is nothing we can do or say to make its message more relevant or complete. The Bible is for you and for now.
We believe we are called to be both hearers and doers of the Word.
We will seek to live out the truth of God's Word individually and in community, freely sharing the good news of the gospel in our words and deeds. We do this not as a means to salvation but in response to God's great grace, love, and mercy.
Lastly, fundamentally, we believe in the tenets of the Apostle’s Creed:
We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven
and now sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church,
The communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
* “Catholic” refers to the universal church of God’s people throughout all time and from all places.
